Team Strip Match is out!

My newest adult game is now released and free for download. That doesn’t mean I’m done with it. The models and animations could use more polish and the UI could be better. However, it is totally playable. You can download it below:

If you missed my earlier post, this is a 3 vs 3, guys vs girl, strip card game. You play as the boys team and win if you can completely strip the girls team. To do so, you will want to collect sets of a single card and use them on the opposing team. You need at least 3 of a kind to use a card ability. Each additional card causes the effect to hit another opponent.

  • Textures and shaders aren’t great for some of the character models. I should be able to improve them with some work.
  • More commentary and animations for existing characters
  • A character select screen to allow you to mix up the teams
  • Better music. That royalty-free music is very royalty free, but maybe I can find something more unjoyable
  • More characters. Probably pulled from my other released and unreleased games. (I may make these a Patreon Supporters reward, I haven’t decided yet)
  • Some sexy stuff for eliminated characters while they wait for the game to finish

Team Strip Match is almost ready for release

After biting the bullet and spending about $350 on 3d assets, I make a lot of progress on Team Strip Match over the weekend. Some of the UI stuff is still pretty rough and the textures could use more polish, but I have almost all the major elements I need for a decent alpha release. The only things I really need now are a couple animations I can’t get from Mixamo. So… Blender. I’ve never done any animation before, but how hard can it be to make a couple animations in Blender? (I’m guessing it might be pretty hard).

If it doesn’t end up taking forever, I may be able to release a public alpha in a couple days.

Never Too busy to fix bugs

I’m still taking a break from Night Games, but some issues were brought to my attention. I wanted to get a bugfix out as soon as possible.

Changelog:

Increased Flash Step’s speed to 99 so it will always activate first
Fixed an issue where prizes were not calculating properly.
Tickle now continues to do temptation damage after the Mara sex upgrade.
Tickle can cause orgasms with the Mara sex upgrade
Added a sanity check to all damage calculations to make sure skills never do negative damage
Fixed a bug where pets defeated by the Fetish Goblin weren’t removed
Fixed a bug that could cause Jewel to learn a level of Dark instead of Ki

In other news, I’m making progress on the three games I am currently working on (7 Minutes in Heaven, Team Stripmatch, and Exhibition Day). I’ll end up focusing on a single one as each approaches release, but for now switching games each time I hit an obstacle is keeping me from getting stuck. I’m planning to post a preview of the new girl for 7MiH in a day or two, but I think I need to post that a supporters-only post on my Patreon. I haven’t had much to give my Patrons recently. I can still offer the rest of you a general status update.

I’ve figured out that it’ll cost me a few hundred dollars to purchase the 3d assets I need to create the character models in Team Stripmatch. I’ve earmarked some of the Patreon money for it, so thank you to everyone who helped make that possible. I hope to have a release version soon.

I’ve structured the mechanics for the next 7 Minutes in Heaven character. I just have a lot of writing to do, maybe more than either of the first two girls. The mechanics should allow for a couple viable strategies for her that will lead to different groups of good endings.

So far I’m finding that Ren’Py may not be right for my needs, but I’m going to stick with it for a while. I can embed pure Python, so I can do everything I need to, but currently I’m fighting against the UI features more than I’m using them. We’ll see if that changes after I get more used to it. Fortunately I’ve broken Exhibition Day down into a number of easily managed milestones, but I can’t help writing some extra logic into each of my functions to handle future features. It’s reducing my current productivity, but may be better in the long term.

Plans for the next few months

I wanted to make a quick post about what people can expect from this site in the near future.

I put up a poll for my $5+ patrons to vote on the next girl to add to Seven Minutes in Heaven, like I usually do for upcoming Night Games content. The most votes by far went to the girl I was previously planning to add, so I already have some initial framework done for her. That should go smoothly.

I’ve been working on Team Strip Match in the meantime, but I’ve hit a significant block. I need to replace my placeholder character models with some nicer art, but I don’t really have any leads on 3d adult character artists. The only community I know about that specializes in that sort of artwork is renderotica, but that seems to be a very low traffic site, so it’s not very promising. I could buy the assets and put the characters together myself in Daz3d, but the quality probably won’t be as high compared to an actual artist’s work. If you are a 3d artist and are interested in a quick commission, please email me. If you know about another adult art community I should be checking, please let me know.

Despite it getting the fewest votes, I’m planning on developing Exhibition Day before Magic Academy Defense Force. I’ve put together project plans for each of them and it looks like Exhibition Day will be MUCH quicker. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it will be good practice developing in Ren’Py before I attempt something more complex. Jumping right into Magic Academy Defense Force as my first Ren’Py game would probably not be feasible.

[Public Release] Not Quite Mara Time

The lastest update is now publicly available. There was a minor UI bug I fixed since the Patron release, so you may want to grab it again if you already downloaded it. As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m going to change my focus to some of my other games for a while. If you haven’t voted in the strawpoll below, please do so. [Patron Release]Night Games – Not Quite Mara Time

The Patron release of the next update has been released, so if you are a supporter, you can head over to my Patreon page and download it. As always, the public release will be in one week.

I want to apologize for how long this update took to release. I had some family stuff last weekend and I worked a lot of overtime during the work week. But even with that in mind, the fact that it took me more than a week to finish a few tasks that I expected to complete in a day is a sign that I need to take a break from Night Games for a bit. I was planning to write some story scenes for Mara before switching gears, but now I feel like I need to put that on the back burner.

The next thing on my ToDo list is to add a new girl to Seven Minutes in Heaven. That will be my current priority, but that’s almost entirely writing work. I also want to put some time into implementing one of my other game designs. I figured I’d put up a strawpoll to see which game appeals to people. Bear in mind that the results of the poll will not guarantee which game I work on. Other factors such as feasibility and asset requirements will influence my decision. Here are the three designs that I currently have on the table.

Team Strip Match (Working Title)

This friendly get-together is about to get hotter. Late in the party, someone suggested playing Strip Poker, but Caroline suggested a spicier team game instead. The deck of cards she brought was custom made for a game of stripping and teasing. Even the more modest party-goers were tempted by the prospect of seeing their hot friends naked and aroused.

This is already a fairly advanced prototype. Some of you have seen it. The game is a 3v3 strip card game, where the objective is to eliminate the opposing team by stripping them or over-arousing them. The current version is guys vs girls, but I plan to add more characters and allow the player to customize teams at the start of the match.
The prototype needs some decent 3d character models and some UI work before it will be ready for release, but it is in pretty good shape already. I will definitely finish the release at some point, even if it doesn’t earn many votes.

Magic Academy Defense Team (Working Title)
[Engine undecided, probably Ren’py]
Two aspiring magic students have been invited to the world’s most prestigious magic academy. When they arrive, they discover the academy has been taken over by a powerful succubus, who has already consumed most of the staff. The two transfer students are entrusted to secretly gather support from the other students and root out the demon’s underlings and free the academy from her influence.

This is a time-management strategy game where the player simultaneously controls a male and female magic student (no, this is not using the Harry Potter IP). The player will need to ally and seduce influential members of the academy to gain support, but sleeping with one of the succubus’s agents can corrupt your characters.

NPC roles will be randomly assigned at the start of the game, so players will need to gather information to identify their enemies. I have a spell system designed to handle the combat and keep it light, but interesting.

Exhibition Day

What started with some poor planning and supervision has eventually become a university tradition. The annual athletic exhibition has become infamous for participants ending up naked and humiliated, and it has dramatically increased audience turnout. Despite the risk, plenty of students are still tempted each year by the prize money. They just hope they can keep their dignity intact.

This is an exhibition and public nudity focused game that shares some design principles with Night Games. This will be designed out of the gate for players and NPCs of both genders. Participants need to navigate an obstacle course while attempting to retain their modesty. This is made harder by poorly (or brilliantly) designed obstacles and competitors who are actively trying to strip their opponents to make them surrender. Everyone will probably wind up naked at some point, but the real question is whether they can cover up in areas where they are exposed to the audience.

This game features an action point system as well as a complex clothing/improvised coverage system. These interact by forcing players to balance using their hands for actions or using them to cover themselves. Participants are eliminated by being too humiliated to carry on. They can sabotage each other by stealing clothes, forcing each other into embarrassing positions, or even making each other orgasm in front of a crowd.

Real Life Happens

So I am no longer an unemployed software engineer. I just started my new (quite lucrative) job, which required me to relocate. Between the pre-employment stuff and moving, I haven’t gotten a lot of writing done. I won’t have Mara’s story scenes done by the end of the month. However, I do have quite a bit of other content ready to go and I want to keep my promise of releasing something by the end of the month. I’m going to split this update, spend the next couple days testing, and put out the non-story content on Thursday. I should be able to finish the story content in a couple weeks and put that out as its own update.

This update will have a few community-submitted scenes, some UI updates, and the new skillset. However, the events that unlock the skillset for the player will not be implemented yet. You’ll see Mara start to incorporate these skils at high level, but if you want to use them before then, you’ll need to do some save-editing.

After the story half of the update is released, I’ll probably start working on some new content for Seven Minutes in Heaven. There’s a chance I may decide to try to get one of my other prototypes to a releasable state instead. We’ll see.

Back up and running

I just received my new laptop and have installed my development tools on it. I’ve implemented the new late game skills I was planning to add, but I still have a half dozen scenes to write before the update will be ready. It’s going to take a lot of work to catch up after losing my laptop, but I’m going to aim to have the update ready in about a week.
